Over the last 21 years, the Pantone Color Institute declares a particular “Color of the Year” which helps guide consumer-oriented companies in designing and planning future products. In its 22nd edition, Pantone has chosen 19-4052 Classic Blue as its 2020 Color of the Year. As mentioned by the institute during its most recent declaration, “the reassuring qualities of Classic Blue offer the promise of protection; highlighting our desire for a dependable and stable foundation from which to build.”
For anyone in the market for an interior design, the Pantone guide and its aforementioned qualities of the Classic Blue could also serve as a reference be it for that young professional looking to maximize his space or that art collector looking to showcase his most prized possessions.
The color Blue has been synonymous with calm and serenity which
makes it ideal for living spaces. Using a dark shade as a backdrop has the
effect of making small spaces seem bigger while highlighting other fixtures in
the room. Here we see a perfect example of the Color of Year making this tiny
space cozy.
For those who prefer an understated look for their living spaces, it would be best to use actually use pieces that incorporate a bold color. Here we see an artwork showcasing the range of Classic Blue that adds color to a rather neutral setting without dominating the space.
Interior
Designers and property owners would find the perfect balance by choosing how
bold or understated they want to go. Regardless of style, incorporating the
classic touch of Blue in one’s home is a surefire way to infuse a sense of calm
in their personal spaces. And we hope you, our dear Earthauz Creations reader,
would find that in this coming decade.
